About this timberframe study
The explorer follows Stewart Lundy’s corrected octagon pattern: eight radial triangular frames and sixteen short rafters, two per roof bay. The eight former wall-midpoint rafters have been retired. The current frame has 112 timbers, including three full 2 × 6-inch braces at each of its eight main posts. The optional open porch has its own display toggle and separate proposed timber joints.
Choose a member to inspect its dimensions, geometric angles and edges. Use the contact view to examine the new short-rafter ends against the hip faces. Shift-click selects multiple pieces; isolate, orbit, zoom and end views remain available. Free / WASD captures the mouse for movement; Escape releases it. No network service is needed by the viewer itself.
One symbolic reusable green aid and one temporary black welded-display assembly are separate construction-only metal layers; the latter uses eight radial L straps and 24 illustrative holes, with a 90 in owner-reference span, not the 88 in cupola diameter. The optional cupola roof is a surface envelope, not additional cuttable timber.
The default removable joinery proposal includes fitted center dovetails, wooden retaining pegs and a staged disassembly path. Earlier R01 and perimeter proposals remain selectable for comparison. Geometry checks do not establish connection strength or a safe erection procedure; this is not a fabrication set.
The model provides 24 inches of clearance below the lowest main-floor framing. With the current floor assembly, the walking surface is about 46¾ inches above grade. The optional porch is lower, with six exterior risers and a six-inch step into the main room.

The starting reference is Robert Swinburne / Bluetime Collaborative’s octagon outbuilding, reconciled in the twelve-sheet R01 geometry study with Stewart’s corrections. This reconstructed study is not the architect’s original CAD or an endorsed construction drawing set.
